Assalamu Alaikum,

Today's Ayah — Surah Al-Fatiha, Verse 2:

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Alḥamdu lillāhi rabbil-'ālamīn

"All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds."

What does it mean?

We say Alhamdulillah dozens of times a day. When something good happens. When someone asks how we are. Almost automatically.

But Al-Hamd doesn't just mean praise. It means praise given willingly, with full knowledge of why you're praising. It's not the praise you give someone out of politeness. It's the praise that comes from genuinely seeing how good something is.

And Rabb — often translated as Lord — actually means the one who nurtures, sustains, and raises you to completion. Not a distant king. A constant caretaker.

So this verse is saying: all willing, conscious, heartfelt praise belongs to the one who has been quietly sustaining every single thing about your existence — all along.

(Tafsir notes adapted from Ibn Kathir and Maariful Quran.)

Today's Reflection:

What is one thing sustaining your life right now that you've been treating as ordinary?

Until tomorrow,
